Change your thoughts and you change your world.

-Norman Vincent Peale

Abuzz with activity.

The society conducted the 14th postgraduate (PG) convention at Navi Mumbai on 13-15th March 2015 hosted by the ISP Maharashtra study group and D. Y. Patil Dental College as the venue. The resolution passed by the AGM at Jaipur was enforced; to improve the quality of the papers being presented by the PG students. Only 400 papers were selected on merit across the various categories for oral presentation, a concept that is being followed the world over and the others being converted into posters for presentation. Many PG students had a sense of dissatisfaction for the papers being converted to poster. In fact, it is a step for them to introspect and improve their work. There is nothing to be disturbed about. All of us have to understand that the step taken is to improve our work.

A group of 20 members embarked on a "scientific - pleasure trip" to Nepal. The group went on a 4 day trip to Kathmandu, attended the 1st National Conference of the Nepalese Society of Periodontology and Oral Implantology at Dhulikhel and a leisure day at Pokhara. The ISP members were accorded a warm welcome. Few of the ISP members were the resource person at the conference and a few on this occasion presented free papers. Overall the experience at Nepal was educative and a pleasurable one.

I write to you this message when the integrate 2015 - National symposium on implants is underway at Kodaikanal on the 3rd-5th April 2015. The program has attracted delegates to listen to stalwarts in the field of implantology from across the country. The preconference was held on the 3rd April with a variety of subjects relating to implantology and also including hands-on courses esthetic surgical techniques to be employed around the implants. The PG students took an active interest in the program and participated in the hands-on courses.

The other Integrate 2015 - National symposium on lasers is to be conducted in the month of June at Coorg. Professional enrichment programs at various places in the country are being conducted enthusiastically by the members to enlighten and enrich the private practitioners about our specialty and its role in practice.

I request the members to take active interest in all the activities and work toward our goal of making our specialty the best in dentistry.

Don't limit yourself. Many people limit themselves to what they think they can do. You can go as far as your mind lets you. What you believe, remember, you can achieve.

-Mary Kay Ash
