Another year has gone by since the Journal of Indian Society of Periodontology has evolved, become better and created a niche for itself. I am also happy to inform you that we are running on time as far as the publication schedule of JISP for 2015 is concerned.
The year 2015 saw the introduction of the “Online Early” facility for JISP. This facility has been designed to ensure the earliest possible dissemination of research after acceptance. It is in line with the JISP's endeavor to publish manuscripts in a more timely fashion and is in synchronization with many of the international periodontology Journals, which offer this facility either as an “Ahead of Print” or as an “Early View” service. This not only adds another feather to our cap but also goes a long way in improving our standards of publication.
The year 2015 saw the journal office submit applications for membership to the World Association of Medical Editors and the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors which was accepted. It is a matter of great pride and pleasure that JISP now is listed with both these apex bodies.
The journal has witnessed a considerable increase in external citations, a strong growth in subscription and a strong growth in article submission until date. The year 2014 saw 502 articles submitted to the journal with a decent reach in different countries. The journal also saw a good citation to self-citation ratio of 35:3 and 92:6 and continues to strive for overall improvement of its metrics, speaking of which the Source Normalized Impact per Paper, the Impact per Publication, and SCImago Journal Rank values for the journal are as follows:

I am very happy to share these numbers with you, and it is a testament to the hard work put in by all parties involved. I would like to thank the authors, reviewers, editorial board members, and staff at Wolters Kluwer Health for the collective effort in improving our performance.
Please accept my heartfelt wishes for a very joyous and prosperous 2016.
