Synergy means the interaction or cooperation of two or more organizations or entities to produce mutually advantageous results greater than the sum of their individual results. Human Synergy refers to human interaction and team work. We have all been exposed to 'Two brains are better than one'. That is just another way to express the word synergy.
When synergy occurs amongst organizations the individuals involved get to work in a motivated, charged, positive and supportive working environment and the parent organizations reaps the benefits. The key to success in such cases is diversity of ideas because of inclusion of people with varied experiences. A plethora of perspectives helps to increase the range of ideas and thoughts. The brain storming brings out the best in terms of creativity. The origins of brainstorming can be traced back to Alex Osborn. An advertising executive of 1940's who published his findings in 1953 as to how group brainstorming was more efficient, thus giving birth to a legendary collaboration exercise more focused in approach than any other since then.
As professional societies become larger and increasingly look for gainful pursuits of science and higher education, flush with the rapid acceleration of technological advancement; one hurdle easily set aside by the collaborations is the cost or budgetary outlays earmarked for research and development. Synergy assures optimal usage of limited resources at hand. Therefore, interdisciplinary cooperation builds trust, co-creations, better effects, results, effective solutions to difficulties and credible problem solving, thereby, achieving not only organizational aims and objectives but also vision and mission successfully.
Another year is on the cusp of becoming history and rather uncharacteristically, we are happy to see it turning it's back towards us. For want of better nomenclature it may have been dubbed a 'Zero Year' but it appears to be a misnomer because such terminology hints at a lost year and my personal perspective is that it was far from one. The Head Office remained busy as ever, perhaps more so because of lockdowns and curtailed help. I have tried to carry out the duties and responsibilities of the Head Office to the best of my abilities in an epochal year. To say anything about future is fraught with danger considering the uncertain times we live in. Suffice it to say I would love to put my best foot forward but one day at a time.
Wishing you all a glorious and healthful New Year.
